JULIETA ALTAMIRANO CROSBY

PUD COMMISSIONER DISTRICT 2

Up Coming Event

My Priorities

The not-for-profit Snohomish PUD with its 1,100 employees, is the second largest publicly-owned utility in Washington state and 12th largest in the United States serving the 900,000 residents of Snohomish County and Camano Island. With an operating budget of over $800 million, Snohomish PUD’s mission is to deliver safe, reliable, affordable, and environmentally sustainable electricity and water to its communities.

Approximately 97% of the Snohomish PUD power supply is carbon-free. Its 2023-2027 Strategic Plan is centered on five long-term priorities to continue meeting the needs of the community:

  • Bolster operational reliability and resiliency

  • Enhance and evolve customer experiences

  • Actively help our communities thrive

  • Build a sustainable future with our communities

  • Create the culture and capabilities needed for the future

Dr. Julieta Altamirano-Crosby, as your next District 2 Commissioner of the Snohomish County Public Utility District (PUD), commits to transparent, accountable, sustainable, and inclusive governance for the residents of Snohomish County and Camano Island. Her years of elected experience on the Lynnwood City Council where she now serves as Vice President, has displayed a resolute dedication to building a strong and vibrant community.

Her comprehensive agenda is built upon five fundamental principles:

  • Reliable, Accessible and Affordable Energy: Prioritizing policies that keep energy affordable, alleviating financial strain on both individuals and businesses.

  • Transparent Governance: Transparent and accountable governance practices, that aims to build trust between the PUD and the diverse communities it serves.

  • Clean Energy: Champion feasible clean energy initiatives that reduce the region’s carbon footprint and safeguard the environment for future generations.

  • Community Engagement: Actively involve stakeholders in decision-making processes.

  • Equitable Access: Promote equitable access to essential utility services for all residents, particularly those facing financial hardships.
